Isle of Staffa

Traveling to Staffa is  involved two boats and a bus ride, but is definitely worth the trip. The tiny island is home to a colony of puffins and has a beautiful columnar basalt formation that dips into the sea.

The Isle of Skye is full of beautiful hiking trails, breathtaking views, and grazing sheep to keep you company as you walk. Visiting the Old Man of Storr was one of the highlights of the trip.

In Inveraray, there is an old castle and jail to visit, both of which are a great way to spend a rainy afternoon. The town is on the seawater Loch Fyne and sometimes seals and otters can be seen swimming in its waters.

Edinburgh's Royal Mile, Calton Hill, and Victoria Street (the inspiration for HarrPotter's "Diagon Alley") make Scotland's capital a great city to explore. Glasgow is known for it's cathedral, necropolis, and for the work of architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh, who lived in the city.
